Model Circulation Flow Study in Measuring Local Speed of Pulse-Wave Propagation by Correlating Adjacent Doppler Flow Signals

Doppler signals generated by liquid flow were measured at two closely spaced locations along a vessel. The proposed method for measuring local blood pressure pulse-wave propagation speed employs one processing procedure to increase coherency between the two Doppler signals and performs the complex crosscorrelational analysis on the processed signals. This method uses 2-MHz Doppler signals taken simultaneously from a model circulation pulse flow to produce a sharp correlation peak with a precision of 1-ms delay-time.
