Two lipomatous tumors of the liver were reported. The first case is a 65-year-old woman with angiomyolipoma in the posteroinferior segment of the liver. She had no evidence of the tuberous sclerosis. Its US findings were very hyperechoic (or bright) lesion with deep attenuation and acoustic shadow. The CT appearance of the tumor was oval low density area of which CT value was -80 Hounsfield units. Angiography showed hypervascular tumor, and tumor stain with drainage vein in the venous phase. The resected specimen was 8×8×11 cm in size, tan soft tumor. Histologically it was composed of blood vessels, smooth muscle and adult-type adipose tissue. The second case was a 27-year-old man. The tumor located in the inferior segment of the liver and liposarcoma was suspected by the biopsied specimen. On the US the lateral part of the tumor was hyperechoic with acoustic shadow and the medial part was hypoechoic. On the CT scan the lateral part of the tumor showed fat density and the medial part showed isodensity to the surrounding parenchyma.
