　A case of traumatic rupture of the testicle is reported. It is very difficult to diagnose testicular rupture before surgical exploration. Therefore, a lot of patients with testicular rupture have orchiectomy.
　In our case, preoperative ultrasonography of the scrotum was done in a case with traumatic rupture of the right testicle, indicating partial rupture of the testicle in association with extensive hematoma. This ultrasonographic finding allowed us to perform an organ-preserving operation. The patient underwent surgical repair of tunica albuginea.
　Our experience suggests the usefulness of preoperative ultrasonography in testicular trauma.
