The long-time friendship between China and Japan in medical ultrasound dates back to the late 1970s. Different kinds of seminars and symposia have been held to promote the communication among the Chinese and Japanese scholars. Benefiting from this excellent mechanism, many Chinese doctors got the opportunities to pursue their study in Japanese medical universities. Therefore, new theories and techniques have been introduced to help the development of ultrasound in medicine in China. Nowadays, most of them have become the mainstay in Chinese medical ultrasound area. Concerning the ultrasonographic research in China, more and more new techniques have been studied and applied on the basis of encouraging national support of research fund, no matter in clinical and natural science field. Many ultrasound doctors are able to lead the innovative development around the world. Up to now, the communication between the doctors in both countries has become more and more frequently in different forms. We believe the friendship between China and Japan ultrasound doctors would be continued and keep promising in the near future.
