The first ever Ultrasound Education centre in Pakistan was established by me in 1984 and it got its affiliation with Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in 1986 with Dr Barry B Goldberg as its advisor.
To date we have trained more than 6000 doctors which includes Advance courses and fellowship program.
Our program includes hands on session, multi format reading session apart from daily lectures and self assessment exam.
Each student performs more than 1200 cases in six months attachment for which Performa’s are filled and log book maintained.
Courses offered are Basic six weeks in OB/GYN & Abdomen, Color Doppler to give a head start and then participants are advised for learning Advance techniques in extended programs of Six months to a year. Our centre caters to 26000 cases in a year.
Papers will highlight details of lecture, scanning process, Certification and Protocols. There are few centers offering in depth knowledge in Ultrasound. However short courses & short rotations are run in many centre’s and institutions. The pros & cons will be highlighted.
