　Transabdominal ultrasonographic voiding cystourethrography was performed in the normal person and the patients with prostatic hypertrophy by the electronic sector scanning probe with a frequency of 3.5 MHz. This method easily offered us transverse and longitudinal real-time ultrasonograms of the bladder and the prostate with no special apparatus.
　Transabdominal sector scanning allowed us to examine the topographical relationship between the bladder and the prostate at the filling phase, and made it possible to observe the dynamic changes of the bladder，bladder neck and posterior urethra during voiding. Therefore，transabdominal ultrasonographic voiding cystourethrography is convenient for the screening examination of the patients with urinary disturbance．
