Diagnostic 2 MHz pulsed ultrasound was irradiated to sliced fresh tissue mass with the size of 13 × 8 × 2 mm, and ultrasound reflectivity was compared among normal uterine muscle and myomatous tissue. The length of tested tissue slice coincided with the distance calibrated at the record of reflected ultrasound waves. Average ultrasound reflectivity of myomatous tissue of 6 cases was significantly larger than that of normal uterine muscle of 7 cases. The record of reflected ultrasound showed the peaks which coincided with the histological structures of the sliced normal and myomatous tissue samples.
